Michael Maloney was born in Tallahassee, FL, and has built a strong musical reputation for himself in the
region for a little over a decade. As a founding member and sole guitarist for the Soular System, one of the
Southeast’s most unique funk/soul groups, Mike plays a key part in compositional, publishing, musical,
promotional, web-affiliated, graphic design, organizational, administrative, marketing, and booking aspects
of this 10 year old Florida based success story. The group has released two studio albums, a couple live
efforts, and is working on a third album currently. The band’s second album, produced by Bedrosian, is
distributed by Nuttsactor 5, which is run by Fishbone bassist Norwood Fischer. The group has opened for
Digital Undeground, Fishbone, George Clinton, Earth Wind & Fire, and Chicago.
Mike also is a founding member of Secret Army and Som’n Fierce, both Danny Bedrosian’s current musical
outfits. Michael has also contributed to both guitar and engineering on some tracks with Danny over the
years at BOZFONK MOOSICK and his own studio FUNXPLOITATION, which also handles the Soular System’s
publishing (aside from Danny who is a BOZFONK published artist).
Mike also is a key contributor to Teresa Jimenez’ Get Stereo album and live show. He also plays in a
folksy, singer-songwriter-based band he co-founded called Red Flag Hitchikers, and a couple smaller
groups. Mike played live at the debut Big Ol’ Nasty GetDown show as well with musicians from Yo’ Mama’s
Big Fat booty Band, P-Funk, Dirty Dozen Brass band, and many others. He also is featured on the Chris
Cornwell/CLONIN THE WHEEL EP , alongside Bedrosian, and guitarist Marc Munoz, as well as the newest
Secret Army album Monsterpeace. He is also aiding his fiancee Miss Teresa Jimenez on an upcoming
children's album, as well as overseeing the completion of the next Soular System album.
